Mid-Autumn Festival

Mid Autumn Festival, Lantern Festival, Mooncake Festival...
This holiday has so many names, all of which are so magical!
I sound like an excited 6 year old but it was honestly a beautiful night.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is supposedly a day where people celebrate their harvest on the night of the full moon between September and October.
Singapore being the overpopulated nation that we are, doesn't really have any land to harvest anything so we just celebrate the lanterns and mooncakes.

Py invited me to celebrate it with her knowing that both of us needed the break in between our prelims and yes, I agreed to it despite having to walk to her house after the sun has gone down.
Which is scary... Despite it only being a 5 minute walk...........
Apparently, we kinda went down to the multi purpose hall early cos there were about less than 10 families.
But as the night wore on, more families came streaming down, with adorable lanterns of all shapes and sizes (it also made our lantern look so ordinary).
I can only describe the experience being as kecoh as a kampung would be on the eve of Hari Raya, with fire crackers and such.
Most of the famlies brought mooncakes with them and py only brought mochi which we finished in 1 bite so yeah, we learnt our lesson! We shall bring food next year!
Despite py knowing most of the families, she refused to ask them for some mooncake.
Alas! There was a mooncake making thingy happening and so I did manage to eat some mooncakes!

I hope you found these photos as magical as I did!

Peace out
