And Now

Before I start apologising for taking a month long break, I hope all of you are glowing from the joys life has birthed you with.
But if you aren't as blessed with good fortune, which puts you in the same sampan as me, well, take a break.
From school, from your diet, your responsibilities, from life.
Who am I kidding.......
Such is life, no breaks, only 10 minute naps from Khatib to Yio Chu Kang if you're lucky enough to get a seat in the train.

So the real option right now is to just occupy yourself with more responsibilities as a form of escapism from the reality of your ever-growing pile of adult things you have to handle.
Like a job, which I got. Also which I suck at.
Like honestly? I've only worked for a week but my ICs are so bored of me pestering them to correct the awful mistakes I've done.

Next in the list of things Hazirah has been occupied with
*depressingly cheerful variety show soundtrack playing*
I received my A Level results!
I mean, they're the best grades I have ever achieved in the awful 2 years I spent studying for them.
I was proud of myself, my personal best yo~
And then it hit me that my future is pretty bleak.
Like I don't even know where to go from here. I lost track of the yellow brick road that was supposed to bring me to safety and back to a stable future.
All I can do right now, is pray that the limited universities that I am eligible for accept me.

So moving away from my responsibilities, while waiting for those emails that can make or break you, I'm here living on my laptop, editing photos and planning for a personal project.
While working to buy myself some ~tools~ to start living life!
Aka Photoshop and Lightroom...
And for the hopefully upcoming university school fees.

Thanks for reading!

Korean Halal

My stacked up posts are coming to an end as I blog another long forgotten and overdue piece from the pre-As era!
This is dated after my last Prelim 2 paper, where Nadiah, Weekee and I decided to get some gastronomical therapy following the theme of Korea~~
And since we were on the topic of Korea, Nadiah and I decided to stop by Korea Tourism Organisation while waiting for Weekee to end her MCQ paper.

Additional details
If you're planning your first trip to Korea without the help of a travel agent, especially if you're a Muslim, I highly recommend stopping by Samsung Hub and grabbing some very honestly helpful brochures and info from KTO.
They've got brochures for u fangirls, kdrama addicts and halal foodies.

Going back to the food adventure, well, there isn't much halal Korean eateries so we basically went to Seoul Garden HotPot and Nene Chicken all conveniently located around town woop cos we are smashed after our morning papers!
Just saying, HotPot is usually pretty empty and Nene Chicken is completely the opposite...
But good food all the same! Such fun~

Stopped by Japan on the way to Nene Chicken, we couldn't help it! Uniqlo and Muji were calling us...

Not forgetting to thank my adventure companions; Weekee and Nadiah!

Early Merry Christmas to all of you wonderful cuties!

SAM Visit

Ps, I do not know how to write cursive...

How To Enjoy An Art Museum For The Struggling Student
1. Eat before your trip to the museum at a place that exists.
Fyi, the halal taco stall at Golden Shoe Hawker Centre is no more.
2. Choose a weekday to avoid the judgmental real artsy fartsy crowd.
It helped me feel calmer and more comfortable to walk around and just squint my eyes in an attempt to understand an artpiece knowing there wasn't anyone thinking "lol diz gurl dk shiat"
3. Read the description of the artwork to understand. Keep an open mind to get the full effect of being mind-blown.
It's like being in Mdm Chitra's class, seriously. Sorry to disappoint but despite being a Lit student, I still found it hard to understand half the pieces without reading their descriptions.
I suck at PC...
4. Comfortable footwear.
The museum may look small but you will have to walk quite alot.
5. Make full use of your free sticker pass. Which we didn't...
FUNNY STORY we were tired from the countless stairs we had to climb so we didn't go to the 4th floor at 8Q.
So when we were forced to enter this exhibit which was outside the museum, the lady who was in charge of the exhibit asked if we saw the aquarium at the 4th floor which, I quote was "EYE-OPENING!!" sigh... we couldn't go back up there... no.

6. Oh! Lest I forget! Go with your friends to make the trip more exciting, hilarious, unforgettable.
It was a great time to go to SAM for the 1st time with my friends who made the whole day more tolerable.

All in all, I still prefer cultural and historical museums, where I can relate to on a more direct level. Like National Museum or Asian Civilization Museum or Peranakan Museum oh so many cultural and historical museums in Singapore
(Thank you for the free entries!!!)
Also maybe cos I'm a histodent...

some of the photos are thanks to puteriramdzan and Mai
be proud of your country and their museums!!

peace out

Parks & Recreation

Singapore is a literal concrete jungle, despite the efforts in making our country more green, it is not enough.
Being stuck in your neighbourhood for 4 months changes your view on nature.
No exaggerations there! The humidity and lack of wind did not stop me from sighing at the beauty mother nature has given us as I walked around Botanic Gardens.
(I apologise for this overbearingly cheesy confession towards nature as I'm writing this blog while watching The Lorax)

Well, except for the part when my friends decided to surprise me and Puteri under the glaring hot sun which caused the candles for our cake to be so miserably short and pathetic, omg that really made me laugh!
And also made me feel so #blessed (hahahahaha) for the friends I have that went through all these trouble for a moment of happiness!
But in all honesty, the only thing I would wish upon my enemies is to go through an event with bad organisation and planning.
*shrugs*

yes I brought baby food in flavours of broccoli and carrot, parsnip and sweet potato
I bet you can tell which tasted worse
and we have video evidence....

keeping our picnic PG, playing Scrabble and all with our oh so limited vocabulary

sneak preview of my collab with basics girl hijabs (jokes)

Since we had to take a bus down to Orchard to get on home, a thought popped into my mind to go to Ion Sky in spite of the sun setting.
The view was absolutely breath-taking. Also maybe we were at the 55th floor and the altitude made it hard to breathe and it was flippin cold up there.
But believe me when I say Singapore looked so majestic. The clouds felt so surreal and I could feel their freedom.
I can't stress how much that day made me feel so grateful to be able to experience what God has given us on Earth including my friends and my family.
Who tried to help Swag and Syaqs to surprise me but it didn't end up quite as planned.

Post A Levels

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
It is now the end of the miserable period of my educational life or what you might call 'A Levels'...

JC has been a pretty tough journey and let's be honest I'm too sick to dig up some photos to do an "End of JC Journey" right now.
Yes, sick, you heard me right. Right before my last paper, also my worst subject, I fell sick.
So, moving on, here is what I did nearing the big day.

Grad Day

Post Grad School Sessions

Here comes my temporary freedom, rolling around the corner, which I intend to make full use of, attempting to better myself as a human being!
As my days move along, I will cancel off the things I have done from my To-Do List!

Hazirah's To-Do List
Improve writing/blogging/journalism skills
Improve blog in general
Improve photography skills in both digital and analogue
Improve film making skills
Learn how to edit photos nicely with or without the use of Lightroom and Photoshop
Learn how to use HTML codes
Tumblr more
Somehow make my lifestyle healthier than it is now
Read all Harry Potter books including the Hogwarts Library
Read all my books actually
Read A Series of Unfortunate Events
Re-watch Harry Potter series
DIY my Kanken
Reorganise my room
Reorganise my life
Confirm a back-up plan

Well, there might have been some which I can't really remember from the back of my hand but hey, the list isn't exhaustive!
As much as it may excite me, I shan't bother y'all with the gritty details of my freedom, thus, I shall get back to uploading content that I have been putting off for this week.

Have a nice day lads
